Dr. CHARLES SMURTHWAITE, DDS, MS
Dr. Charles Smurthwaite is passionate about helping patients achieve a great-looking and healthy smile, believing it can enhance overall well-being. With advanced training in laser periodontal therapy, neuromuscular occlusion, and orthodontics from the Las Vegas Institute and the Strait-Wire Academy, Dr. Smurthwaite combines artistic skill with the latest dental technologies to create beautiful smiles. He appreciates the trust placed in the Smile Quest Dental team in Rocklin, CA.
As a resident of Rocklin, Dr. Smurthwaite is dedicated to the community’s future. He and his family are actively involved in local public schools and enjoy seeing patients around town.
Dr. Smurthwaite graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, and earned a master’s degree in biology from Southern Illinois University, and a bachelor’s degree in zoology from Brigham Young University. His advanced training includes laser periodontal therapy, neuromuscular occlusion, and orthodontics from Invisalign and the Strait-Wire Academy.
Dr. JEREMY STARR, DDS
Dr. Jeremy Starr, a Sacramento native, completed his education at Sacramento City College, California State University Sacramento, and UC San Francisco. After practicing in Oregon, he returned to Northern California to be closer to family. Dr. Starr and his wife have four children, three boys and a girl. His hobbies include playing the guitar, singing, and snowboarding.

Dr. Denise Lam is a passionate and dedicated dentist who believes in creating a warm, welcoming environment for every patient. Dr. Lam received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from UoP in San Francisco and her Bachelor of Science from UC San Diego. With over ten years of experience in family dentistry, she is committed to providing personalized and informative care tailored to each individual’s needs. Dr. Lam loves building lasting relationships with her patients and helping them achieve beautiful, healthy smiles.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing guitar and piano, cooking different cuisines, and playing with her dog Tofu. Dr. Lam looks forward to making your dental visits comfortable and enjoyable!
